CAMFT Educational Foundation Board of Directors

Purpose/Function:
The CAMFT Education Foundation is formed to provide education, research, publications and scholarships to support and enhance the profession of marriage and family therapy, including but not limited to the following:

A. Provide scholarships, grants, and other assistance to persons pursuing the profession of marriage and family therapy and/or provide scholarships and other assistance to persons conducting research relevant to the practice of marriage and family therapists.

B. Engage in any other programs to enhance and expand awareness of the profession of marriage and family therapists consistent with proper and lawful educational and scientific purposes of nonprofit and charitable corporations.

Composition:
The Educational Foundation Board of Directors shall consist of six (6) members, including the CAMFT President, the CAMFT Past President, the CAMFT President Elect, the CAMFT Chief Financial Officer, one CAMFT member selected by the CAMFT Board of Directors, and one public member selected by the CAMFT Board of Directors. The CAMFT Past President shall serve as the Chair of the Foundation, the CAMFT President shall serve as the Vice-Chair of the Foundation, and the CAMFT Chief Financial Officer shall serve as Chief Financial Officer of the Foundation. The Foundation Board of Directors shall elect its own Secretary from among the remaining Board members.

Term:
Each Director who is a Board member of CAMFT shall hold office for such period as he or she shall be a member of the Board of Directors of CAMFT and until his or her successor shall have been duly elected and have qualified. The Directors who are not members of the Board of Directors of CAMFT shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors of CAMFT.

Meetings:
The Educational Foundation Board of Directors shall meet at least annually, at the call of the Chair of the Board of Directors, the Vice Chair, the Secretary or at the written request of two or more members of the Board of Directors. Meetings of the Educational Foundation Board of Directors shall be convened subsequent to written notice of the members of the Board of Directors no less than thirty days prior to the holding of a meeting of the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:
The Educational Foundation Board of Directors shall be authorized to adopt and publish such policies, procedures and rules as may be necessary and appropriate, and to exercise authority over all Foundation business and funds. The Board of Directors may delegate such functions and powers as it deems appropriate to committees and/or task forces. Such delegation may be revoked at any time.
