CAMFT Political Action Committee

Purpose/Function:
To finance political efforts that support California and Federal officeholders
and candidates who understand the issues important to marriage and family therapists.
Composition:
The Committee shall be comprised of five (5) total members. Four (4) of the
members shall be the President, President-Elect, Past President and the immediate
former Past President of the Board of Directors. The fifth designated member
shall be any person elected by the other four (4) members. A non-Board member
should be selected for the fifth spot. In the event of a failure to elect
such fifth member, the Committee shall operate as a committee of four (4)
until such time as agreement is reached or until such time as the CAMFT Board
of Directors elects, by simple majority, said fifth member, whichever is
earlier. Diversity in committee composition is desired.
Term:
The term of office of the fifth member shall expire on May 31, of each year,
but he/she may be re-elected to successive terms.
Meetings:
The Committee meets via tele/videoconference at least once per year and communicates
as necessary via electronic transmission.
Responsibilities:
- Brainstorm fundraising strategies
- Review contributions to candidates

Committee members are required to sign: Committee Member Participation
Agreement, Conflict of Interest Policy, Anti-Trust Compliance Policy,
and Consent to
Electronic Transmission.
