As of January 1, 2024, LMFTs and MHCs (also known as LPCCs) are Medicare specialty types. This means licensed LMFTs and LPCCs who meet Medicare's eligibility requirements should opt into or opt out of the Medicare system.
If you have questions about these topics, contact your Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for guidance from the MAC's provider enrollment department. Providers in California should contact Noridian Health Solutions at 855-609-9960 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Licensees who are rendering services from states other than California can consult the Interactive MAC Map on CAMFT's Medicare Corner to locate the contact information for their MAC.
