 SB 525 (HEALTHCARE MINIMUM WAGE LAW)

CAMFT and other similarly situated mental health provider associations are working together to help determine which mental health entities SB 525 impacts. Since SB 525 was signed into law, there has been an outcry by different provider groups due to the vague and unclear language within the law. Accordingly, there is likely to be a clean-up bill introduced in 2024 to address the confusion surrounding this law. Given the first installation of wage increase does not occur until June, 2024, and, that most stakeholders believe that this bill will impact less entities than originally feared; CAMFT is strongly recommending that entities make no changes to their business structure until more information has been assessed.
