Promotional Services to Chapters

Chapter Services

Be sure to take advantage of the many opportunities CAMFT offers to publicize the important benefits your chapter offers.

Chapter membership and activities are promoted in each issue of The Therapist. If you would like your chapter highlighted in the upcoming issue of The Therapist, please submit a story that you think would be of interest to CAMFT members.

The story needs to be submitted to mchampion@camft.org, with between 750 and 1,000 words highlighting a project, activity, experience, benefit, accomplishment, breakthrough, pre-licensee fair or club, award, or recognition celebrated by your chapter. These submissions should both highlight the CAMFT Chapter's work and provide relevant information for fellow chapters on what to do if they were interested in implementing a similar program.

By the 1st of each month, CAMFT sends an email blast to the entire CAMFT membership (32,000+ members), to notify them of ALL upcoming chapter events.

Why? To remind CAMFT Chapter members to attend the events, and to urge CAMFT members that are not a Chapter member yet, to attend and join a chapter.

How to submit chapter events? Click HERE to add the information

When to submit chapter events? Any events submitted by Sunday evenings, will be posted on Monday/Tuesday. Any events submitted by the last Sunday of the month, will be included in the email blast.

Who should submit chapter events? Please designate ONE leader per chapter to submit chapter events each month. A reminder will be sent on the 15th of each month, via the Chapter Events Listserv.

CAMFT flyers are available to chapters to utilize at their events. To request these flyers to be emailed to you, please contact mchampion@camft.org. Flyers include information regarding Clinical, Chapter, and Pre-Licensed recruitment, Free Student Liability Insurance, Legal Consultation Service, Member Benefits, Job Board, and more.

The local chapter(s) in or near the location of the Annual Conference are encouraged to be Chapter Hosts. As such, the chapter would receive a resource table adjacent to the Conference Registration Desk. The intent of the Chapter Host(s) is to greet Conference attendees and to have available pertinent local information, e.g., information about the chapter, the community, local restaurants, local entertainment, etc. The Chapter Host(s) are also encouraged to engage Conference attendees in conversation, offer refreshments or give-aways if the Chapter so chooses. CAMFT will request a “welcome letter” from the Chapter Host(s) to be included in the Conference attendee packets.

The intent of the Chapter Host table is to not sell Chapter or Chapter Member goods or services.

Membership Recruitment Support

New members joining CAMFT will receive a welcome email.  The email lists benefits and services, including a link to Chapters.

A chapter may request and receive, at no charge, up to four (4) mailing lists per year comprised of members of CAMFT located within the region represented by the chapter. These can be used for special chapter promotions or membership drives. Click here to complete the Mailing List request online. Mailing lists will be provided via email only.

CAMFT sends a quarterly current/drop report to chapter presidents and membership chairs at the beginning of each month. Chapters are encouraged to use these lists to target and recruit new members and to urge members to re-join CAMFT so that they can be eligible to remain a member of the chapter.

These reports show:

  1. All current CAMFT members residing in the chapter’s zip code range, sorted by joined date
  2. All dropped CAMFT members from the chapter’s zip code range who as of that month, are no longer CAMFT members and therefor are no longer eligible to be a member of the chapter.
