Fiona Brandon, MPS, MA, MFT, is a psychotherapist, contemplative educator, and writer.For over a decade she has integrated Buddhist psychology, depth psychology,expressive arts therapy, dream imagery, and sensorimotor psychotherapy in her workwith adults and couples. She is the Director of the Nalanda Institute’s Compassion Based Resilience Training (CBRT) and Embodied Psychotherapy programs. Fiona is aco-editor of the forthcoming anthology Advances in Contemplative Psychotherapy:Accelerating Healing and Transformation (2nd ed.). Love and Belonging: A Contemplative Psychotherapy Approach to Building Healthy Relationships

Workshop Description:

Using a contemplative psychotherapy approach, in conjunction with neuropsychology and attachment theory, wewill learn how to help our patients demystify where relationship stress comes from and how to prevent it. Usingself-compassion practices, we will investigate overcoming reactive relating dynamics to build healthyrelationships.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the 2 root causes of relationship stress.
  2. Identify 3 causes that contribute to the amplification of a negative sense of self.
  3. Describe 3 ways self-compassion practices counteract relationship stress.
  4. Name the 4 steps of RAIN self-compassion practice.
