Friday | May 5, 2023
1:30-3:00pm
(1.5 CEs)

Workshop Description:

In this presentation, you’ll gain understanding, awareness, and compassion for an under-represented group of people with a variety of inter and intra-community issues. Gary will also share the types of clinical presentations and helpful interventions that can best support American Asian Pacific Islander clients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain an understanding of the key tenets of troubling trends that work against AAPI people, maintaining wellness and gaining resilience, and coping.
  2. Learn about the irrational thoughts and beliefs present in the AAPI community that inhibit theirability to participate in mental health services and/or prevent them from gaining the necessary insights and psychoeducation to increase wellness
  3. Give practitioners the confidence to support AAPI patients across individuals, couples, family, and community levels.
