Untangling the Errors of Others

Have you ever lost sleep wondering whether something in your practice would land you in hot water with BBS? In this three-hour law and ethics workshop, CAMFT Staff Attorney Kristin Roscoe will discuss ways therapists might find themselves traveling down a road leading to a BBS complaint. While we cannot guarantee a good night's sleep afterward, attendees will learn from the mistakes of others to identify what constitutes unprofessional conduct and become better informed about the BBS disciplinary process.

Learning Objectives

After the presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Distinguish between an administrative citation and an enforcement action.
  • Identify at least 3 categories of unprofessional conduct that could result in BBS taking disciplinary action against a therapist.
  • Recognize how violating legal or CAMFT ethical obligations may result in BBS disciplinary action.
