Revised January 2023
Our top priority for all in-person meetings is the safety and welfare of our attendees and team. CAMFT recognizes that after nearly three years, California has started down the path toward the end of the declared COVID-19 State of Emergency. In recognition of this change and in response to updated guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), CAMFT is updating its in-person meetings policy for 2023.
CAMFT will continue to follow the strictest guidelines established by the facility hosting the event, the county department of public health in which the event is located, and/or the State of California. This policy is subject to change as public health guidelines evolve. Registrants must agree to a Personal Responsibility & Liability Waiver when registering for a meeting or event. If there is a change to the public health guidelines that materially impacts attendees, CAMFT will communicate any changes to this policy to attendees via e-mail, our website www.camft.org, and at the event itself.
CAMFT will adhere to the CDC Guidelines on Masking according to their COVID-19 Community Level Tool that offers guidance on prevention steps according to threat levels. While CAMFT encourages attendees to consider voluntary masking when in close proximity to others indoors, masks will only be required if the community threat level is HIGH, as determined by the CDC for the county in which the event will be held, or if state/local mandates are imposed at the time of the event.
CAMFT will no longer require proof of a negative COVID-19 test result to attend in-person CAMFT-sponsored meetings or events. The COVID-19 virus and its variants are highly contagious. As such, all attendees are strongly encouraged, but not required, to have tested negative for COVID-19 within one day of the event for an antigen test or two days of the event for a PCR test.
The CDC has identified a wide range of symptoms indicative of a COVID-19 infection. Please review CDC’s list of symptoms here (link). If an event attendee has one or more of these symptoms on the day of the event, please do not participate. If an event attendee is waiting for COVID-19 test results or has had close contact with someone who has tested positive for or has COVID-19 symptoms, please only attend the event if you receive a negative test result before the event, as indicated above. Event attendees acknowledge the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus, assume all such risks, and CAMFT shall not be held liable.
I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, AND DEMANDS OF WHATEVER KIND OR NATURE AGAINST CAMFT AND ITS AFFILIATED PARTNERS AND SPONSORS, INCLUDING IN EACH CASE, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND VOLUNTEERS, EITHER IN LAW OR IN EQUITY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES OR LOSSES CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE, FAULT OR CONDUCT OF ANY KIND ON THE PART OF THE PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEATH, BODILY INJURY, ILLNESS, ECONOMIC LOSS OR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, OR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, WHICH I, MY HEIRS, ASSIGNEES, NEXT OF KIN AND/OR LEGALLY APPOINTED OR DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES, MAY HAVE OR WHICH MAY HEREINAFTER ACCRUE ON MY BEHALF, WHICH ARISE OR MAY HEREAFTER ARISE FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE CAMFT EVENT.
