CAMFT, along with NASW-CA, is advocating with the California Victim Compensation Board on concerns about changes to the 2021 CalVCB Mental Health Guidelines that became effective on October 21, 2021. Among other things, the primary concern is that the billing and documentation guidelines conflict with the ability of mental health care providers to render immediate and undisrupted therapeutic and clinical treatment to victims and families in crises. We hope to meet with CalVCB to help victims of violent crimes access competent, compassionate, and effective mental health services to overcome the trauma inflicted by tragic and life-changing events.
