CAMFT SUPPORT FOR NONPROFITS APPLYING TO BE MEDI-CAL GROUP PROVIDERS

It has come to CAMFT’s attention that nonprofit 501(c)(3) counseling corporations founded by LMFTs and LCSWs were having their Medi-Cal Fee-For-Service Provider Organizations enrollment applications denied by the Department of Healthcare services for either of the following reasons: the nonprofit was 1) not incorporated as an LMFT or LCSW professional corporation or 2) not exempt from licensure under Health & Safety Code section 1206. If your organization’s provider enrollment application has been denied for the stated reasons, or you are facing similar challenges, please contact Cathy Atkins, Deputy Executive Director at catkins@camft.org.
