Position Title: Membership Outreach Manager

Basic Function: The Membership Outreach Manager is a pivotal position for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists' operations and future success. In partnership with the Managing Director of Programs & Events, the Membership Manager will assist with the development of short-term and long-term strategic plans that capitalize on opportunities to target new and existing membership segments, drive revenue, and grow market share.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Recruitment and Retention

  • Lead the development, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive strategies to drive membershipacquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Survey and continuously enhance the organization's membership value proposition, benchmarking against industry best practices to improve member experience and satisfaction.
  • In concert with the Managing Director of Programs and Events, oversees membership budgets and achieve revenue goals through annual membership retention and recruitment campaigns and promotion of Association events.
  • Project manage the creation and execution of marketing membership recruitment and retention programs
  • Plan and manage outreach efforts with schools, universities, and chapters
  • Analyze and segment membership data in CAMFT’s association management system
  • Analyze results of recruitment, retention, and re-enrollment efforts
  • Review and edit member benefit materials as needed
  • Prelicense Committee staff liaison (Meetings, Quarterly e-newsletters, Prelicense Symposium)
  • Represent the association at industry tradeshows, conferences, and exhibits
  • erform other duties as assigned

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIP:

Report to the Managing Director of Programs & Events. Frequent contact with Executive staff. Possible supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record of success in growing and engaging a membership base
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience preferably working in a trade association or membership environment
  • Ability to analyze data sets in Excel and summarize findings
  • Excellent understanding of online campaigns and funnels
  • Marriage and Family Therapists and Certified Association Executives encouraged to apply

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance required
  • Physical ability to lift 20 pounds, sit/walk/stand for long periods of time

Reports to: Managing Director of Programs & Events

Salary Range: $82,854 - $93,564 (Exempt)

Location: Remote-hybrid with in-person meetings based at San Diego HQ

POSITION TITLE: Education Specialist

BASIC FUNCTION: Independently plan and manage all operational aspects of in-person and online educational programs including on-demand learning library, webinars, venue selection, registration, vendor/speaker negotiation and contracts, supplies, printed materials, on-site logistics, exhibitors/sponsors, staffing, travel, and lodging.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Webinars and On-Demand Learning Programs

  • Create and manage budget for webinar and on-demand learning programs
  • Create, plan, and project manage online education programs to meet revenue goals
  • Manage on-demand learning library
  • Manage continuing education provider status with professional licensing groups
  • Work with staff to implement marketing programs to drive education sales
  • Work with staff and committee volunteers to identify educational topics and speakers for future events with high ROI plan
  • Analyze data analytics to identify high/low performing online products and make recommendations to increase sale opportunities

In-Person Events

  • Create, plan, and project manage in-person programs to meet revenue goals
  • Identify and solicit sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities for programs and events
  • Research, evaluate, select, and book venues appropriate for meeting/event
  • Define and manage budgetary goals for the education and event programs
  • Create RFP, review proposals, negotiate and contract vendors/speakers
  • Develop and execute event production and content timelines; communicate these clearly with staff
  • Order and manage event supplies (giveaways/awards, food and beverage orders, entertainment, décor, and audio/visual needs)
  • Coordinate room layout and set-up, equipment requirements, agendas, handouts, materials and other supplies with presenters.
  • Manage the development of event communications, agenda, promotional materials, online registration, on-site guides, signage, webpage
  • Manage event logistics (shipping, labor, food and beverage, ordering of show services, staffing, room blocks, securing booth space, and packing)
  • Manage on-site staff at educational events
  • Prepare assessment reports and satisfaction surveys
  • Staff Annual Conference Committee meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience education management and event planning
  • Review and negotiate speaker and venue contracts
  • Experience securing venues and speakers
  • Soliciting and managing exhibitors and sponsors
  • Creating and managing department budgets

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of event planning for large organizations
  • Able to analyze, review, and negotiate contracts
  • Strong project management experience required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Intermediate to advance proficiency in Zoom and Microsoft Office
  • Travel to events and meetings
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends if deemed necessary
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds; and stand, walk, sit for long periods of time
  • MFTs encouraged to apply

Salary Range: $77-90k
