I am honored to be considered for the role of Pre-Licensed Director-at-Large with CAMFT. As a proud pre-licensed therapist with a dual degree in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling, I am deeply passionate about advancing the mental health field and advocating for the unique needs of pre-licensed professionals.
My professional journey has been diverse, spanning Higher Education within Student Affairs, Big Tech, Entrepreneurship, and the Mental Health field. Across these industries, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, justice, and advocacy have consistently been at the forefront of my work. I have dedicated myself to creating spaces where individuals and communities feel seen, valued, and empowered.
My mission has always been to advocate for myself and others—a mission I will carry into this role because I do not take my seat at the table lightly. My leadership style is rooted in creating meaningful change that prioritizes the advancement of marginalized communities and individuals while ensuring that everyone is supported. This involves creating pathways for collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity that address the changing needs of the people we serve.
If elected, I will ensure that the voices of pre-licensed professionals are heard, supported, and advocated for at the highest level. I will work to bridge the gap between CAMFT and pre-licensed professionals, advocating for access to quality supervision, equitable licensure pathways, and meaningful mentorship opportunities. I will also champion initiatives that promote collaboration, diversity, and inclusion within the Marriage and Family Therapy profession, ensuring that our field continues to reflect and serve the evolving needs of our communities.
As a first-generation Indo-Fijian therapist, I understand the transformative power of representation and inclusion in mental health care. My vision aligns with CAMFT’s mission to strengthen qualifications, uphold high standards of professional ethics, and enhance recognition of our profession. I strive to contribute to a vibrant and inclusive MFT community that supports emerging therapists and uplifts the individuals and families we serve.
Thank you for this opportunity to represent and advocate for pre-licensed professionals. Together, we can create a future where mental health care is accessible, equitable, and empowering for everyone.
Warm regards,
Kristine Singh
