OPEN CLINICAL DIRECTOR-AT-LARGE POSITION
(2025-2026 TERM)

CAMFT is looking for volunteers to apply to fill the following Board of Directors vacancy: Clinical Director-at-Large for the 2025-2026 term. The appointed candidate will serve until May 31, 2026 and will be expected to attend the following events: 

Board of Directors Meetings (Mandatory)  

  • March 7-9, 2025 - Sacramento, CA 
  • Board Orientation (after the Annual Conference) - May 4, 2025, San Francisco, CA 
  • June 6-8, 2025 – Carlsbad, CA September 12-14, 2025 – Santa Barbara, CA December 5-7, 2025 – TBD 
  • March 6-8, 2026 – TBD 

Impromptu Special Board Meetings (Attendance Expected) 

On occasion, there are impromptu board meetings on various unexpected topics or issues. These are generally via Zoom except in incredibly unusual circumstances. 

CAMFT Board Retreat (Strongly Encouraged) 

  • Board Retreat (2025 date and location TBD) 

CAMFT Conferences and Meetings (Strongly Encouraged) 

  • CAMFT Fall Symposium (Fall 2025 date and location TBD) 
  • CAMFT Leadership Conference (February 2025, San Jose, CA/2026 date and location TBD) 
  • CAMFT’s Annual Conference (May 2-3, 2025, San Francisco/2026 date and location TBD) 
  • CAMFT’s Annual Membership Meetings (hosted at Annual Conference on May 3, 2025, San Francisco/2026 date and location TBD)  

  CAMFT Lobbying Trips (Strongly Encouraged) 

  • Sacramento Lobby Day, Sacramento (January 28, 2025/2026 date and location TBD) 

Travel, meals, and lodging are reimbursable by CAMFT for the events listed above. Please see the CAMFT Board and Committee Reimbursement Policyfor more details on Board member travel and expense reimbursement.Limitations on Candidates Who May Apply 

  • Only Clinical members of CAMFT may apply. 
  • Applicants must have been voting members of CAMFT for at least two years prior to taking office, or have been a Pre-Licensed member and voting member consecutively for at least two years immediately prior to taking office. (See CAMFT Bylaws, Article VI, Section C(2)). 
  • No person shall run for any position on the Board of Directors nor shall a person be appointed to any position on the Board of Directors, if such person, in serving out his or her present elected or appointed term, will have served on the Board of Directors for four (4) consecutive years or more, whether by appointment or election. (See CAMFT Bylaws, Article VI, Section C(3)).
