Invitation: Join the Virtual Chapter Leaders Forum discussions

  • Description: The goal of these virtual meet-ups is for chapter leaders to get together and share what works well for their chapter and to ask for/share advice and resources. Depending on the needs of the attendees, there will be an opportunity to meet in smaller breakout rooms. The Chapter Relations Manager and selected CAMFT staff members will be available to answer questions

Reminder: The 2024 Chapter L&E webinar Survey

  • CAMFT is exploring different ways of offering L&E webinars to chapters next year, keeping in mind limited resources at CAMFT and at the chapter level.
  • Please select one person from your chapter to respond to the survey. Your feedback is appreciated.
  • Deadline: Sept 12 (extended to Sept 15).

Reminder: Chapter & Outstanding Leader Awards

  • Discuss with your board the opportunity to recognize the Achievements of your Chapters and Leaders
  • To nominate is quick-and-easy. See how here: Nomination Guide.
  • Submission/Nomination deadline is Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
  • All Chapter Award recipients will receive a stipend.
  • Awards will be handed out in-person at the Chapter Leadership Conference on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Tip: Budget for CLC 2024 travel, accommodation, and parking

  • The chapter is responsible for:
    • Additional hotel room nights for the President (other than Friday evening).
    • Hotel rooms for any board members and committee chairs attending.
    • Flight & ground transportation for the President, board members, and committee chairs attending
    • More information is available on the CLC website.
  • CAMFT provides:
    • Free registration to all board members and committee chairs.
    • Friday reception and Saturday breakfast, lunch, and breaks for all attendees.
    • A hotel room for the chapter President on Friday evening.

Reminder: How long to keep financial records

  • Accounts receivable spreadsheets and bank statements - Permanently.
  • Accounts payable spreadsheets and checks - Permanently.
  • Annual financial statements and audits - Permanently.
  • Tax Returns - Permanently.
  • Payroll Records - Permanently
  • Organizational documents (charters, bylaws, etc.) - Permanently.
  • Membership records – 3 complete years.
  • Supporting documentation (Such as paid invoices & cash receipts) – 3 complete years.
  • Insurance Policies -3 complete years.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

Tip: Equity at the Core of Everything

  • Diversity leaders are often asked to do their jobs without having direct oversight of staff and programs that are critical to the success of a DEI strategy. But that’s not the case at the National Recreation and Park Association where Vice President of Education and Chief Equity Officer Autumn Saxton-Ross is tasked with bringing an equity lens to all member-facing areas.

  • Share with your Chapter’s Pre-Licensed members that they can search for paid and unpaid internship employment opportunities on the CAMFT website here.

  • Sign up your Chapter for the final session of the year!
  • CAMFT provides the speaker and all the information needed to comply with CE requirements.
  • Chapters manage registrations, marketing, and CE certificates.
  • Chapters have the option to charge for these presentations, or to offer it to their members for free. Chapters keep any fees collected.
