Dr. La-Quesha Robinson LMFT, LPCC
Dr. La-Quesha Robinson, LMFT, LPCC, is an experienced clinician and researcher specializing in culturally informed mental health practices for African Americans. She owns and operates Libby's Place, Inc., a private group practice, and serves as an Assistant Professor at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Session Description:
This one-hour workshop will explore the critical relationship between social isolation and mental health among African American men through a culturally informed lens. The session will present findings from original research that employs constructivist grounded theory to uncover how historical, systemic, and cultural factors contribute to social isolation and its role as a psychosocial stressor leading to mental health disorders. Participants will learn about effective, culturally competent practices that mental health professionals can implement to address these challenges, with a focus on community-based interventions. This workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced practitioners who seek to deepen their understanding of culturally sensitive care and its application in reducing isolation and improving mental wellness in African American men.
