This presentation focuses on providing clinicians and mental health providers with an overview and understanding neurodivergency in the context of trauma informed care and nervous system function. It will explore such evidence-based practices such as poly vagal theory, safe and sound protocol listening therapy, and other nervous system-based techniques to help clients achieve better nervous system regulation and symptom reduction. This presentation will also invite participants to examine neuronormative structures/systems and how they intentionally or unintentionally cause harm to neurodivergent clients, paying special focus to individuals with intersectionalities in other marginalized communities
