APRIL 2022 E-NEWSLETTER

Spring is here!  And CAMFT is excited to welcome spring with reopening live events to our membership. 

April is a busy month for the CAMFT team as we prepare to welcome members back to CAMFT’s Annual Conference on Friday, May 20th at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center! We’re beyond thrilled that it is safer to gather again in-person so that we can reconnect with colleagues and share an enriching learning and networking experience. 

Some of the highlights of this year’s Annual Conference include:

• Keynote speaker Terry Real, LICSW, is a nationally recognized family therapist, author, and teacher. His groundbreaking work on men and male psychology as well as his work on gender and couples have been featured on Oprah, 20/20, The Today Show, CNN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Psychology Today and many others. Due to a recent surgery, Terry Real will be joining via livestream and not presenting in person.
• Keynote speaker  Dr. Ebony Butler, PhD is an accomplished author, Food Strategist, and licensed psychologist. Dr. Ebony works alongside women to help them develop skills that increase their relationships with others, themselves, and their bodies.  
• CAMFT staff attorney Luke Martin, Esq. will join us with his presentation “Before You Press Record...” to discuss the legal, ethical, and clinical implications of video and/or audio recording a client’s session.  

In addition to the live event, the conference registration also includes access to a special selection of on-demand workshops by expert speakers. This unique registration package offers up to 17.5 CE hours by combining the in-person connection as well as  flexibility with on-demand workshops.   

We also recognize that not everyone is ready to travel just yet. Members who prefer to learn online can purchase the package of on-demand recordings--that will also include our keynotes and law and ethics presentations.   

And on a personal note, I am very excited to see so many of you that I’ve missed giving hugs, and chatting about not only CAMFT and the profession, but also our personal stories and lives. Hope to see you!
