AUGUST 2022 E-NEWSLETTER

August is here, and for many families that means back to school. For those members who work with adolescents, this is a season of helping children find balance as they navigate returning to classrooms. The impact MFTs have on our youth is invaluable, whether addressing anxiety, treating trauma, or providing a general foundation for better mental health.

As a former high school teacher, I also care deeply about creating an environment where all children can thrive. This includes how we as a community help address the multitude of factors that can interfere with a student’s ability to learn. MFTs have an important role to play in the ecosystem of helping kids perform to the best of their abilities. If you work with this population, I invite you to review CAMFT’s articles on school-based psychotherapy as well as our articles on working with minors.

Now is also a great time for CAMFT members to continue your educational journey, and we are here to support you! Registration is open for the CAMFT Fall Symposium, taking place September 9^th in Sonoma.
